Getting a Bargain
- Chaing Mai Night Bazaar or Kad Luang (Royal Market) as locals call it, is one of Chiang Mai's biggest draws.
- Anusan is a buzzing food market best known for its Thai-Chinese seafood restaurants.
- Stalls surround a large cluster of tables where each 'restaurant' has a section allocated with its own waiters.
- Nearby are other stand-alone restaurants, some of which have their own prawn holding ponds acting as centrepieces for their menu specialty.
- The market attracts huge crowds every evening and it is a great place to pick up trinkets and gifts, the price of local handicrafts is attractively cheap here.
- Aside from local handicrafts, you can buy virtually anything you can think of at the market - watches, silk, jewelry and more high-tech items like TVs and DVD plays and CDs, be prepared to unleash your inner bargainer!
- The Chiang Mai Night Bazaar also offers some of the best street food you are likely to come across.
