The magical ‘midnight sun’ is a natural phenomenon that can be viewed north of the Arctic Circle during the summer months.

• The further north you go, the more likely you are to experience this unique event.
• The days over summer become very long, with the sky being bright at midnight.
• The midnight sun is when the sun hits the horizon but doesn’t dip below, before re-emerging overhead, giving perpetual daylight.
• It doesn’t get dark for months here during summer – during winter, there are months where the sun never emerges.
