Myeong Dong

Myeong Dong

Scotty and Trevor travel to a commercial, tourist district of Seoul, Myeong Dong. It is filled with people, bustling with lights, sites and smells, perfect for shopping experiences of all kinds or a visit to a beautiful cathedral.

  • The district has two major department stalls, mountains of malls and multiple street stalls allowing consumers to find specialty boutique items or snatch up some irresistible bargains.
  • In South Korea they have fixed pricing, which means the shopping dollar goes a long way, attracting millions of people each year.
  • The street food in this area is perfect to keep energy levels high for shopping. Fresh abalone or lobster can be cooked right in front of you for prices of next to nothing, followed by the ‘super tall ice cream’ unique to this part of the world.
  • The Myeong Don Cathedral is stunning architecture that is worth a visit. Christianity is the main religion in South Korea followed by Buddhism and… Coffee! Koreans drink on average, 2.4 coffees each per day.
