Jeonggangwon Cooking Demonstration

Jeonggangwon Cooking Demonstration

Travelling the road to the Jeonggangwon restaurant and cooking school will take you to small towns and villages in the Korean countryside.

What’s the Korean food like? Well, you’ve probably tried some of their world famous delicacies and Trevor takes a tour through the Korean Food Museum to show us even more.

Jeonggangwon has a very holistic approach when it comes to understanding the food culture of Korea and share it with visitors from across Korea and across the world.

Home to one of Koreas favourite dishes and for good reason, Kimchi has been a staple part of the Korean diet for nearly 500 years. The process to make Kimchi takes almost two months but can be eaten for up to two years, prefect in an environment as cold as this one.

Trevor also learns about the injeolmi, a traditional Korean rice cake, named for its unique flavours. The process of making these cakes involves the pounding and steaming of glutinous rice flour. This particular rice cake is so special it is often used as a special treat for people at parties or feasts. The ultimate snack.

Set amongst traditional Korean style houses, you can’t help but feel totally immersed in Korean culture. The food museum takes you through the history of the Korean food journey, which is now one of the world’s most popular cuisines.
