Okinawa is a Japanese prefecture comprising more than 150 islands in the East China Sea between Taiwan and Japan's mainland. It's known for its tropical climate, broad beaches and coral reefs, as well as World War II sites.
- Viking guests have the opportunity to explore Shuri Castle, Kokusai Dori and Shikina–en Garden.
- Kokusaii Dori (literally means International Road) is Naha, Okiinawa’s Capital’s main street. It stretches about 2km through downtown Naha. The name comes from the former’ Ernie Pyle International Theatre’, a theatre that was built along the road after WWII.
- The majestic Shuri Castle is a must visit when in Okinawa. Shuri is the name of the former capital of the Ryukyu Kingdom.
- Shikinaen Garden is located about 3km south of Shuri Castle and is about 42000 sq. metres in size, a large part of which is woodland. This garden was built at the end of the 18th century as the second residence of the Ryukyu king and to entertain important guests.
