Viking ships are designed to make guests feel at home, full of Scandinavian interior design and decorations.

  • The ship provides its 930 guests plenty of space to relax, with places such as the Winter Garden, a cool, tranquil Norse mythology inspired space.
  • The interior design makes the ship feel more like a five-star hotel – the ship designer, Richard Riveire, came from a background of designing hotels.
  • The General Manager of the ship, Charles, has two favourite spots – up the front of house, Deck 8 provides a library style setting with a beautiful view, and back of house, the kitchens offer excellent tastings.
  • The Vikings were great traders, and the Explorer’s Lounge at the front of the ship is inspired by their trade routes and navigation methods. There are cosy pelts over leather sofas, tributes to modern explorers, and Turkish marble around the fireplaces.
  • The attention to detail on Viking ships is incredible – the clinker bar, built with true Viking craftsmanship, features detailed rosemåling on chairs, and macramé window dressings reminiscent of traditional Norwegian handiwork.
  • A colourful lichen garden, as well as the melodic sounds of violinists, makes the Living Room the ideal setting for relaxation and conversation – or maybe a pre-dinner drink.
  • The design of the ship celebrates Viking Nordic heritage, with colourful woven textiles, light woods, slate and stone – many of the natural materials that went into making the original Viking Longships.
