Some Viking excursions offer guests the opportunity to take on some physical activity – very welcome after the amount of food you’ll be eating on your cruise.
- The bike tour of Geiranger uses electric bikes. Theses use electricity generated by the process of cycling to drive your bike, so your level of fitness doesn’t have to be that good.
- The journey to Flydals Canyon will take you past dramatic mountain views, waterfalls and beautiful landscapes, revealing remote hotels and camping spots, as well as some of the best positions to view the surrounding scenery.
- At 1300 feet above sea level, you’ll find Knuten, or The Knot. This unique curved road construction resembles the shape of a knot, and was built in 1889 to allow road users to conquer difficult terrain, and is a testament to the engineering skills of its designers.
- All the hard working may leave you quite hungry, so the tour includes a stop at a restaurant serving farmhouse fresh produce, as well as waffles with jam and freshly whipped cream.
- This gentle ride stops at places such as the famous Flydalsjuvet viewing point, giving you ample opportunities for photos, and the descent into town is stunningly beautiful.
