- Khao Sok is home to an amazingly diverse ecosystem that's hundreds of millions of years old, with the modern forest a relic of ancient Siam.
- The first dicotyledon trees on the planet following the coniferous period where dipterocarps.
- The under canopy below the tree canopy is alive with shade loving plants like bamboos, palms, strangler figs, ferns, epiphytes, orchids, carnivorous pitcher plants and climbing plants such as pepper and liana vines.
- Ferns, lichens and mosses all fight for the remaining one % of light which reached the forest floor.
