Air Date: 5 June 2021

There’s more to Norfolk Island than meets the eye. Trevor visits the Cyclorama of Fletcher’s Mutiny to watch the history of Norfolk Island unfold before his eyes.

  • The painting blends a series of scenes, depicting the history of Norfolk Island’s people who are descended from the crew of the 1789 mutiny on the Bounty and their Tahitian companions.
  • This tale is told through storyboard panels which document the scenes of the painting – the voyage of the Bounty to Tahiti, the mutiny and the settlement of Norfolk Island.
  • The Cyclorama is a 360° panoramic painting with realistic 3D effects and soundscape.
  • This painting is a Tourism Awards winner and has been attracting tourists to the island for over 13 years.
  • The entire project took over 2 years to create, with 16 months spent solely on the painting.
  • The Cyclorama is currently open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10am – 3pm.
