We know Wellington is the culinary capital of New Zealand, but did you know it’s also the coffee capital?

One thing you must do before a busy day of exploring is have a great cup of coffee and if there’s one thing that Wellington-ians know what to do, it’s make good coffee! Wellington is home to around 750 cafes and restaurants, and it is said to have more per capita than London and New York.

The iconic two and a half year old Prefab is an absolute must-visit and the café even has its own roastery on-site. The owners of Prefab have been in the business for over 25 years and they express their importance of fresh coffee by roasting every day. Their signature roast is a combination of three different origins – Costa Rica, Brazil and Ethiopia.

Prefab also has a bakery on-site, providing all sorts of fresh goodies coming out of the oven and onto your plate.
