Naejangsan National park

Naejangsan National park

Not far from the beautiful village of Jeonju is the stunning Naejangsan National Park famous for its stunning mountainous scenery and autumn show this region is famous for world wide. If you miss the autumn season, hiking in summer is also stunning.

  • The name of the park translates to ‘treasures hidden within’. As you walk through the grounds you truly discover the parks name, there is much to see with hidden treasures just waiting for you to discover.
  • The range is called ‘Baekyangsa’ which means 'Backbone of Korea.’ It runs north to south with its highest peak at 760 meters high making it a great hiking destination.
  • If hiking isn’t for you there is also a cable car that provides magical views taking you to the top of the mountains where you can visit temples and shrines built by Buddhist monks in the 1700s.
  • The park is rich in biodiversity with over 900 different plant species including the rare giant dog wood tree and rare Mongolian oak. There are also multiple maple trees, which are (not surprisingly) the stars of autumn; they light the place up between October and November.
