Gwangjang Market

Gwangjang Market

This market is going to blow your mind. In the heart of Seoul is the biggest market, the Gwangjang Market. Trev and Scott are visiting for a very special reason – for all the food!

If you want a truly authentic Korean street food experience then this is where you need to be. The market covers over 100-acers and has over 500 shops and stalls. The market has been here since 1905.

There are two things you just have to try during your visit:
- Sundae, which is glutinous blood rice wrapped in a sausage
- Toppoki, just like giant noodles!

If you’re not that adventurous but love Korean food there’s one thing you must try: bindaetteok. It’s a mung bean pancake and is sometimes called Korean pizza.

Trev and Scott also try octopus the traditional and hotteok, for something sweet. Hotteok Is a fried pancake filled with brown sugar and nuts. It’s amazing.

The markets are bustling and vibrant, it feels like the place the locals go and like the beating heart of Seoul.
