Jeonju Royal Bibibap

In 2012 Jeonju was awarded the UNESCO World Heritage City of Gastronomy, which is kind of like winning the Nobel Prize for being awesome at food! It’s one of only 18 cities around the world and the only one in Korea to get the nod, which can only mean one thing: the restaurants in Jeonju really know their stuff.

Lunch is one of the best dishes you can have in Korea and Jeonju has a particular dish that Trevor is really excited about. Right in the heart of Jeonju is Gojon to the most awarded restaurant in Jeonju, the kitchen team know their stuff inside out and are going to treat the guys to some Bibibap.

Bibibap is one of the most famous Korean dishes and different regions in Korea have their own versions of this dish but Jeonju Is especially famous for their version.

Here at one of the finest restaurants around, the guys speak to the Head Chef to get to the bottom of what makes Jeonju home to the delicious Bibibap. It starts with a soft white rice base, topped with bean shoots, bellflower root, green pumpkin, shitake mushrooms and many other ingredients.

Some of these ingredients you wouldn’t even think about! This dish is really connected to ancient culture and history in Korea which makes it a must try on your visit.
