Anmok Coffee Street
Anmok Coffee Street
If you didn’t know already, South Korea has an amazing coastline. The city of Gangneung in the Gangwon Province on the east coast of South Korea has some stunning white sand beaches and Anmok beach – which runs for some 150-kilometers - is a classic example of this pristine coastline. Whilst the beaches are popular during the summer, it’s the Korean’s love for coffee that transforms the street in this city.
The Anmok Coffee Strip is home to all of the corporate brands but you will also find a whole heap of beautiful little boutique stores run by caffeine enthusiasts. With 20 cafes on the strip alone, this makes it a go-to destination if you’re looking for a high quality caffeine rush.
In just 5 years this street has turned into the coffee mecca it is today. The region now has a small coffee growing industry and it’s own Coffee Appreciation Festival, which is held in October.
There’s nothing better after a big Korean night to come down to Anmok Coffee Strip to enjoy a delicious coffee and wonderful views. This truly is an amazing part of Korea.
FACT:
It has been researched that Koreans rank among the biggest consumers of coffee in the world and Korean adults drink on average 1.7 cups of coffee a day.
