There would be few events in history that have captured the attention of the majority of the world's population the way the triumphant launch of the world's biggest cruise liner Titanic and her subsequent tragic sinking on her maiden voyage have. But not everyone realise she was built and began her voyage in Belfast Ireland and just over a year ago a spectacular museum opened honouring her contribution to world history

A Greatest Ship Ever Built

  • The museum is enormous, a titanic signature building covering some 14000m2, it accommodates 9 galleries including a dark ride, under water exploration theatre, recreations of the actual ship decks and, cabins with holograms
  • It doesn't matter if your into ships or not, this incredible monument to the Titanic's contribution to history is an absolute must see, a brilliant reason to make sure Belfast is on your itinerary when you travel to Ireland

  • The SS Nomadic was built by the same company who built the titanic and she served a role as a tender for the giant cruise liners before being seconded by the French to serve as a troop ship in WW1 before returning to service as a tender after the war. She was then requisitioned by the British in WW2
  • Some of the famous first class passengers who used the SS Nomadic to board the Titanic were Sir Cosmo Duff-Gordon and his celebrated fashion designer wife, Lucillle, American socialite Molly Brown and wealthy industrialist Benjamin Guggenheim
