Episode: 4 Explore Canada: One Ocean Expeditions PT 2
Title: Gros Morne National Park, Newfoundland and Labrador
Broadcast: January 20th 2018
Presenter: Trevor Cochrane

Today we stop at the beautiful Gros Morne National Park and Woody Point located in Newfoundland and Labrador. Making our way on the Zodiacs from our berth in Bonne Bay to Woody Point we meet up with a charming community delegation before hiking up to the interpretation centre.

  • From the centre, various guided walking trails take us to the world heritage- listed Tablelands and to the lookout for a view over much of the park.
  • A boreal wetland landscape, features dramatic rock ridges, pitcher plants, white – throated sparrows and moose. All can be encountered as we explore the park.
  • There are options to take a hike (in varying levels of difficulty) up the mountain paths or bike ride to Trout River or you might want to paddle along the shore of Bonne Bay; all activities provide stunning views of the landscape.
