Nova Scotia is another stunning coastal destination you simply must visit when in Canada
Coastal Living
- Driving south from the capital Halifax along some magnificent Boreal forest you'll eventually reach the beginning of the lighthouse trail along Nova Scotia's spectacular coastline
- The lighthouse was built here in 1915 to warn ships traveling the treacherous coastline of the hazards that would claim many a ship and life. The coastline is amazing and the tiny town of Peggy's Cove attracts over a million visitors a year yet has only 64 residents whose place here is protected and this see's property's passed down through the generations
- Today its an artisans village with the most beautiful crafts and arts, many associated with the sea. There's restaurants here although we've got to recommend the home made ice cream a real highlight on a hot summers day
- Lunenberg town is a UNESCO World Heritage site and strolling it streets taking it the wonderful architecture and character of its buildings that are still the same as it was 250 years ago is a great way to enjoy the day. It's still a working fishing village and its scallop industry remains a thriving business
